farmer for a day

i just love summer. looong days. literally till 9.30 pm. tons of stuff to do outdoors. we're really using up our sunscreen. hooray! we went to ramsey, a nearby county for their fair.

somehow food just taste a little different at the fair. we tried "pork chops on a stick" for the first time. i think i still like it better on my plate. =)

this section must the cool-est yet. tons of activities for the kids. picking real apples from "trees". apple season is in aug, so can practise first. =) in case you were wondering, they feed the pigs with the apples at the end of the day.

digging in the dirt for potatoes. it was funny that the organiser told us jerald was secretly standing behind jerome & taking his big bro's potatoes & putting them in his own bucket. =)

too scared to milk the real one? this one is good enough. real "milk" comes from the udder too.

waterworks

every tue during summer, our place opens up an inflatable waterslide & 2 pools for kids to cool off.

they are even nice even to space out the 2-5 & 6+ so big ones & little ones can play.

one more point for our new place! =)

5D 4N

after a loooong wait at the airport...
getting re-orientated to grandparents & aunt from webcam to reality. =) the boys were a little shy at first but warmed up enough by the end of the day to monkey around.

Jr already had rehearsed what he wanted to do with them - his new house, zoo, strawberry farm, playground, toy store, wading pool, lake, beach, picnic, *food* parties

the best berries hide under the leaves
it's been a wk since they left but the boys still chant...
i love mai mai *my sis*, i love aunt lili *sis's friend*, i love por por *grandma*, i love gong gong *grandpa*,
where did they go? they ran away. they flew away in an airplane.
how many of them went home?
why did they go home?
i don't want wednesday. *boo hoo*
i like mai mai's birthday cake. it's yummy.
it's funny how people fall into a routine.
it was hard in USA without family at first. like our friend, L said then, we were lucky. we were busy with settling down while our family did not. after a while it was norm chatting on webcam or msn & skype.
after spending 5 days together, it was suddenly our turn to feel alone.
Jr cried when we sent them off at the airport & they went through the boarding gates.
then again when we reached the rented van. "who's going to sit behind me?" my mum, sis & her friend had sat there.
yet again when we returned home. "who's going to sleep in my room? who's going to sleep in my playroom?" =(
J & i... better to have them for a few days than not at all. at least there was something to look forward to our "1 yr in USA" =)

beauties with brains

B-I-M-B-O

this arrived in the mail just a few days before we moved out of our old apt, bringing with it lovely memories of my beautiful but intelligent colleagues. =)
as much as i do enjoy time with the kids, there'll always be moments like this that i do miss school a little.
when we went to a store that sells tons of "teacher-y" stuff like stamps, stickers, books, manipulatives & the like, something in me just got so excited about teaching again. =)
