in SG, being grounded at home due to bad weather would be quite unheard of.
but this pales in comparison to our car skidding on the road due to the legendary "black ice" on the roads. we've become highly sensitive to weather forecasts & winter storm alerts warning us of hazardous traveling conditions.
we learnt this in a day of warm weather after it has been snowing for days. the snow has melted in the sun & formed a layer of slippery ice. whoa! walking feels like doing a clumsy display of ice skating.
one afternoon after being grounded home. it had snowed continuously for 2 days! we set out to make a snowman in the field outside our house.
